1. Avoid /Reduce Salts Intake
When your periods are around, avoid foods that are high in sodium content. These include processed foods, wafer chips and pop corns. Try and avoid dusting extra salt on salads. Foods with high sodium content causes bloating of the uterus and stomach cramps.
2. Avoid Red Meat & Poultry
Red meats and poultry should be strictly avoided during this time as they are hard to get digested leading to poor bowel movements. These foods also increase you estrogen levels due to which the flow becomes heavy and uncomfortable.
3. Consume Fibre Rich Foods
Consuming fibre rich foods during this time proves to beneficial as they help in easy digestion and keeps constipation away. Avoid discomfort by consuming foods like beans and oats and fruits.
4. Have Green Leafy Vegetables
During your periods, your body needs extra nutrition and green leafy vegetables provide you vitamins and fulfil the extra need of calcium. They also aid relieving spasms related with stomach cramps.
