You MUST Do This Before Your Child Turns Seven
It is vital and essential for us to train and develop our child by teaching them values at an early stage as their brains begin to develop and sets in at this early stage.
Studies show that when a child turns 7 years old, their adult brains start to set. Hence, such parenting tips are most needed at this time of their lives to better push them into the right path.
Accordingly, 90 percent of the brain growth activity happens during a child’s first five years. At 7 years old, a child will have developed the ability to handle complicated emotions.

The early years of a child is a great time to build up habits that can mold their developing brain. Create a solid foundation for them to be healthy physically, emotionally, and mentally. As a parent, you are your child’s very first mentor.
“Helping your child develop healthy brain habits early on in life is one of the best gifts you could possibly give,” says Catherin Plano, author of Getting to the Heart of the Matter. It is a good idea to start your kids with habits that build emotional intelligence, self-esteem, and self-awareness. These habits will benefit them greatly later on in their life. They will thank you for it.
So how do you do this?
First and foremost, create a healthy routine. According to Danielle Kaufman, a child Psychologist in Melbourne, it helps children feel safe if you build a routine with them.
Einstein. His words were: “If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairytales. If you want them to be very intelligent, read them more fairytales.”
Most probably, Einstein’s parent read him a million fairytales during his childhood years. He is, after all, a world-renowned genius.
To form this habit, Kaufman advises you to be specific. Be your child’s model by showing them appreciation over small things. Always tell them what you are grateful for. For instance, tell them how you enjoyed walking at the park with them.
The idea is to make them appreciate the good and small things in life. Do not just give them the bigger picture. Show them that there a lot of little things to be thankful for.
Anxiety can be a child’s problem, too. Since 1998, statistical reports of children diagnosed with anxiety have doubled.
Do not just tell your children not to worry. It will actually make them worry more. Instead, teach them to externalize whatever it is that they are worried about. Give them a sense of self-expression.
Start with the worry box. Simply let them write down their concerns then make them put it in the box. Make the process fun by telling them that the box will hold their worries as they sleep
Develop a habit of getting up and moving early in the day. This will teach responsibility to your child. Also, it will lead to a healthy adulthood.
A good trick when dealing with kids is to make everything fun. Do not make it like a chore for them. Fun activities early in the morning may involve walking at the park, hiking around the neighborhood, dancing in the living room, running around the yard, and many others.
Keep your routines simple.
Take note, however, that not all kids are the same. Play around with the routines that you planned to see which ones will suit you and your child better. Also, do your routines at a regular basis.
